This website is about capturing family stories whilst those that remember these stories are still here.
Perhaps it was realising my own mortality, but 20 years after my father died I finally felt that I could read and transcribe the stories he wrote of his childhood. Fred’s story is the raison d’être for this site.
By creating this site I hope to find a way to let his story come alive to those that may not remember him or would not have known him.
As I was transcribing I came to appreciate that family history, other than genealogy, is often lost. So I decided to expand the purpose of this page to include other family stories.
I am hoping that as time goes on family, be it by genetics or marriage, will add more stories so that when the time comes they can be shared, keeping our family history alive.
