Way way back during the last century a lot of work was done by many people, Amanda from memory, and Trudy Messingham (from England and a distant relative) to name but two – shout out if I have missed anyone else who helped. They put in the hard yards to uncover the Missingham genealogical story.
It seems that the Missingham lineage goes back to England, apparently their move to the colonies was not voluntary. I believe that Mum took some time to make peace with this as growing up having convict blood was not seen as social positive (how times have changed). Anyway this page is a good illustration o the Missingham family tree – up to Mum’s generation at least.
